In accordance with social needs, personnel, material-technical and spatial capacities, the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Kragujevac enrolls, amongst others, students in integrated academic studies of medicine. The decision on the number of students enrolled in the study program is made by the University, on the proposal of the Faculty, in accordance with the license for work. The number of students whose studies are financed from the budget is determined by the Government of the Republic of Serbia. Enrollment in the first year of study is done based on a competition announced by the University of Kragujevac, and conducted by the Faculty. The competition is announced no later than four months before the start of the school year and contains: the number of students for the study program, enrollment requirements, criteria for determining the order of candidates, the procedure for conducting the competition, the method and deadlines for submitting an appeal to the established order. A foreign citizen, in terms of previous education, can enroll in a study program in the Serbian language under the same conditions as a domestic citizen, in the manner regulated by the Law on Higher Education and the general act of an independent higher education institution. The condition for enrollment is knowledge of language in which classes are conducted.

The selection of candidates for enrollment in the study program is made based on the candidate's success during high school education and the success achieved in the entrance exam, which is organized by the Faculty in a public and predetermined manner. The elements of the entrance exam are: a biology knowledge test and a chemistry knowledge test. After passing the entrance exam, a ranking list of candidates is formed, based on the number of points scored, in accordance with the rules of the competition. After the introduction of the State Matura, the Faculty will adapt the way of ranking and the system of enrolling students for this study program to the corresponding legal framework.

If the entrance exam is conducted, the criteria based on which the classification and selection of candidates are carried out are determined by the Faculty. More detailed provisions of the procedure and way of conducting the entrance exam are regulated by a special act adopted by the Faculty Council. The objectivity and secrecy of the entrance exam is guaranteed, and the results are displayed publicly, on the notice board and the Faculty's website.

The ranking list of registered candidates is compiled by the enrollment committee, which is appointed by the Rector of the University at the proposal of the Teaching and Research Council of the Faculty. The right to enroll in studies is acquired by a candidate who is ranked in the ranking list within the number of approved students for enrollment in the study program and has a health certificate issued by a health institution.

A competition participant who believes that his rights have been violated may file a complaint in the manner and within the deadlines provided by the competition. A candidate who has acquired the right to enroll, but does not enroll within the deadline, loses the right to enroll.
